Sheep River Camp

Although our base camps are located so that hunting can be done from them, hunters and guides usually spend most of the hunt well away from the base camp.

When away from base camps we use expedition quality mountain tents and provide appropriate gear and food for the hunt. This is a very efficient and successful method of hunting as prime time hunting hours are not lost in traveling to and from the camp.

For many years we have hunted two unique locations some two hundred air miles apart. Neither requires long distance travel to find most respectable trophies. The terrain in these areas make them less accessible and therefore they are not heavily hunted.

The Alaskan Brown Bear seems to prefer these less accessible areas that are not suited for human comfort. This is also true for the Mountain Sheep and Goat. We have it all as our areas provide ideal habitat for trophy sized animals.

Each of our client/hunters are guided one on one by our experienced professional guides. While the years of experience will vary from guide to guide; each is experienced in all facets of guiding and have been screened to provide personality and abilities to make your hunt a memorable experience. The fact that we are located in select areas will greatly enhance your opportunity to take trophy animals.

Once you are in the actual hunting area, all hunting is on foot. The effort you are willing and able to put forth will have a bearing on your chances for success. As all of our hunts are "True Fair Chase" a client's physical capabilities are indeed a factor.

We will arrange your air transportation from your point of arrival in Alaska to our camp. Please note that while we do make arrangements for quality bush flights, their cost is not included in our hunt price.

(Note: Our hunts in the Prince William Sound are within the Chugach National Forest,  Under a special use permit issues by the US Forest Service. )
